Corrosion: the story so far

The original version ran monthly from August 99 - June 01, at the Northway & Jolly Roger pubs, Scarboro. Many thanks to everyone who turned up & supported the night, and made it such fun to do. The anniversary edition was held @ The Pickwick in August 03 (a big fuck off to the scum behind the bar)

The DJs were: Machine, SDG, Larva, Straightedge, Richard, Gary Godsquad.

Welcome to Corrosion, Scarborough`s premier independent club, and the ONLY alternative night in town for around six years. Corrosion started as a one-off night in August `99, but it was such good fun that I decided to continue it. Originally we had a different venue and no name, but have now found a permanent home at the Jolly, and have been running once a month for almost 2 years.

The basic idea for the night was to create a space run `for us, by us` where people who don`t fit in to the godawful local `nightclubs` can get together and relax without the usual hassle from trendies, etc.

Corrosion features a storming soundsystem, fantastic light rig (better than any of the clubs in town) and (small) dancefloor, but the most important bit is the atmosphere - it`s laid back, relaxed and friendly....

Music policy : If it doesn`t get played anywhere else in town, then we`ll play it here. As long as it`s not Bela Lugosi`s Dead of course........

If ever you`re in Scarborough and fancy dancing to something that`s not shite, you know where to come.......
